When I started looking for a school for my daughter, I wanted one that would instill a spirit of compassion, not just competition, one that would let her personality blossom, not just make her part of an assembly line, one that would encourage her to step into the world with confidence not just with a degree. I realized I was looking for a school like Alexandra Girls' English Institution. Thank you, my Alma Mater, for making me who I am!

My school years at Alexandra have been the stepping stones in my life! It has taught me great values and helped me shape into the person who I am today! And one of them is accepting inclusivity in diversity! Kudos to all the teachers and staff whose continuous efforts have made this school stand strong for all these years.

A good school is like clay and the teacher the potter… both go hand in hand in shaping your life. I am forever grateful to A.G.E.I. for what I am today. The mould they used to cast me, has defined me and helped me achieve my dreams. I owe my success to my school and all my teachers.

I conducted my first ever dance class when I was in the 6th grade at The Alexandra Girls’ English Institution. From there, my dance career kicked off. I am now a choreographer and have my own company Two Right Feet. I am also a F&B content creator. Dancing for school shows gave me the interest to pursue dancing as a career. I’m forever grateful.

I will always be indebted to my parents for the sacrifices they made and my school “The Alexandra Girls English Institution” where I spent most of my childhood. Every teacher from Nursery to Std. X taught us way beyond the syllabus. They taught us how to be disciplined, good humans and stand the test of time. They taught us what’s right and practiced what they preached. I can never forget how proud I was carrying the School flag as the Head Girl. Every achievement since is thanks to the strong foundation blocks laid by our dear AGEI.

My school years lay the foundation to my life today. The teachers at A.G.E.I. always took a keen interest in every student, encouraged thinking and questioning and taught with passion. I owe a great deal to them.

The values, confidence, and curiosity I gained during my time in school laid the foundation for everything I’ve pursued since. I’ve explored various paths — from media to, more recently, the dynamic world of sports. Today, I find myself thriving in one of the most intense and male-dominated arenas: Mixed Martial Arts. Being an integral part of this sport has not only challenged me physically and mentally but also reminded me of the importance of perseverance and belief in oneself — lessons I first learned within those school walls.

My experience at Alexandra Girls' English Institution played a pivotal role in shaping who I am today. It instilled in me the values of integrity, discipline, and hard work, while also nurturing my creative side. The school provided rich cultural exposure and encouraged me to bring out the best in myself. It helped me cultivate positive beliefs and strong values, guided me toward discovering my purpose and identity, and most importantly, taught me to create value in society and offer help with compassion.

My 12 years at AGEI has been one of the most memorable phases of my life. The school not only provided me with a strong academic foundation but also instilled confidence to pursue excellence, to think independently, critically and creatively in a holistic manner and taught me discipline. Today as an Alexandrian I am empowered to be a compassionate, responsible and well-rounded individual with a stellar career, having served as Press and Communications Officer with the British Deputy High Commission for 20 years and currently contributing my expertise at the Australian Consulate-General in Mumbai.

My school experience was always positive and full of meaningful moments. I always looked forward to classes taken by our ever encouraging teachers who were very passionate towards their respective subjects. Moreover, I made some of my closest friends here. Looking back, school helped shape who I am in more ways than I realized at the time. Batch of 2010

My time at Alexandra Girls' English Institution was deeply valuable and has stayed with me in ways I didn’t fully realise back then. It was a place that quietly shaped my thinking, taught me discipline, and gave me a strong sense of identity. The friendships formed, the small wins, the occasional stumbles—all of it added up to something meaningful. The teachers expected a lot from us, and looking back, I’m grateful they did. Alexandra gave me exactly what I needed as a student. It’s a chapter I look back on with fondness and quiet pride. With warm regards,
